George Bush or Bill Clinton?
George Bush or Bill Clinton?
There has never been a civil war in the United States. The war to which you refer was a war for independence. This is an historical fact.
I'll take the revolutionary war. The right side won that one.

The "Cause" or the "War Between the States" was not a war for independence. The so called "historical fact" to which you may however be referring to was the South had its "Constitutional Rights" squashed by the North. And it had little to do with slavery, rather, it had to do with "Individual States Rights." The North merely utilized propaganda to gain a choke hold on keeping the "Union" together by strong hold means. If you study the diaries kept during the Civil War, most "Yankee Troops" were actually ticked off at having to fight with the theme of slavery in mind. Rather, they preferred the idea of keeping the Union intact.
During the First Cont. Congress, it was North Carolina and South Carolina that continually demonstrated the inequality of application of States Rights between the North and South and refused to sign the Declaration of Independence until the North recognized Southern needs! Thus, eighty six years later, post Constitution, the "War Between the States" attempted to hold on to what was promised so many years ago.
Sorry...I participate in Civil War reenactments and it is a sore topic with me.
