The Friday night thread

I am a production and shipping controller for a manufacturing plant here. It is a company owned by scottish people and everyone but me in managment there is scottish. I catch hell all the time for being the only american in the "circle" if you know what I mean. Do you work??
 
i was working in advertising and marketing. i quit though cuz there was too much cold calling and i can't do it. i can sell stuff to people who are interested, but i'm not thick-skinned enough to try to talk people into crap they don't want.

i've been subbing on and off for almost 10 years, so that's what triggered the ol' "hey, i should go back and get my teaching credential" notion. my heart has always been in education. i'm 13 months from earning my credential now, and 18 from my masters :D

i have a guaranteed sub job next year and i applied with another district, so i should be able to pull in some extra income until i'm done with school.

do you use an accent when you speak to the scots?
 
Not yet but I have started using some of their words for things like I say aye for yes, bird for woman, and weins for kids. There's alot more but too many to post.
 
No, the kilt is like a family crest so you have to inherit one. I went to a scottish holiday dinner on time called Burnes night and we had to sing songs, drink alot and eat haggis and other scottish foods.
