Word of advice, read the fine print. Last time I looked through this they claim they may randomly audit customers asking for a copy of a class schedule or other enrollment verification. While I wouldn't normally worry about it, it's possible they know about the australia.edu site, and those addresses might be at higher risk for an audit. Not sure what they would do- either revoke the license or force you to pay the full retail price, the latter being a huge bummer. Just go into it with your eyes open...

Are they going to send the software package to you or it is a downloadable version? If so, how can I have a backup DVD in case my system crashes or gets viruses?

If it is downloadable, you'll have to burn it to DVD before you can install anyway. There is your backup.

Another Question

Is there a limit to how many computers you can install this on?

Probably yes. They, like any other legitimate company, frown upon piracy. You should install it only on one active computer. If the computer dies, go ahead and install it on another one but be legal with it.

Has anyone with a .edu address been successful with the upgrade yet? Has MS audited you?
