Are you sure it was the 642 and not the 622? I've been trying and it still tells me that it's unavailable when I get to the final stages of checkout. :confused: :cry:
 
This player's all right. I mean, it's great that it plays every file imaginable. The only drawbacks I can think of are: slow menu loading, does not play vcds correctly especially if there's a two language option, playing of avi's WITH srt's cannot be done if there are multiple avi's and srt's on disc (i.e. if it's only one avi and one srt on disc, then it'll play correctly). Other than that, this things great. But then again, I usually just do everything on my laptop so I never use the thing.

I wonder what that 'b' refers to?

Push 7,8,9 & then 0 (zero) to make it region free. 0 appears in lower left corner for a moment to verify.

Well, I distinctly remember that the 642 didn't have the "refurbished" label when I was looking at the list of DVD players in the Philips outlet.

It's not there at all, now. Must be sold out.

Once again I try to order this "in stock" item, and once again I get to the "final" inventory check and it's suddenly out of stock again. This is bait and switch. I'm going to call and complain.

Yeah I think if you were able to get through to the confirmation page you are good to go.
