Okay all of you sick and diseased up people out there....
1) Push fluids, especially WATER! Hot tea and honey are natural ways to rehydrate those swollen membranes and tissues. Keep something by your side and DRINK DRINK DRINK!! It helps make mucous to push out the clogged up germs in your body.
2) It truly is okay to take some cough medication at night before bed. The body needs to heal and rebuild by sleeping. Can't sleep if you can't stop coughing! Squeeze in a power nap every day.
3) If the cough persists for more than seven days, get your butts into the Doctor's office for a quick check up and some lab work. Sinus infections are on the run this time of year, and with post nasal dripping, boom, down into the chest it goes. Don't muck about with it!
4) Chicken soup or turkey soup does indeed have enzymes that help with the cold/flu symptoms. Remember to eat HEALTHY at this time of year, get those five fruits and veggies in, one way or another. Carry around a fruit cup and plastic spoon in your purse!
5) You gals and guys on here need to slowwwwwww down the pace a bit. To much stress and pressure will decrease the effectiveness of the Immune System. Take time to literally....smell the roses. Give yourselves one hour a day to read, nap, watch the telly, take a walk, anything to relax. Try some yoga stretches, especially you 40+ gals who want their boobies woobies to strengthened up and shift BACK UP! LOL LOL
6)Those of you with kids in school, you know the drill! When one gets it, they merely bring it on home to adults who have a harder time getting rid of it. Steer clear of congested areas, use frequent hand washing techniques, take out the trash more, open the windows to air out the house for ten minutes a day if practical. It all helps.
Be kinder to yourselves, I can see on here where you all are dropping like flies. It is okay to say "NO!" and tapper back on your scheduling if you can. Now, take two tylenol, brew a cup of tea, let your hubby handle the kids, and, take ten minutes to prop your feetsies up!! Be well, get healthy, and Happy Thanksgiving!
