I'm not sure why Squidy giving children's benydryl to his dog is funny.

Besides, aren't most medications given to animals the same as the ones we take except in different dosages?

That would be correct. My friends' husband is a vet and I've often heard this.

Hey Squiddy, look

<---------- oh wait...that doesn't work for me.

If I want to talk about a movie here, I will....so there. :eviltongue: ;)

Oh No samp stace has pissed off the squid!!!! EEEEKKKKK

Nuh-Uh. She's just trying to be funny. Its fine.

The Squid is just saying that by having him for 17 years, it should be obvious that Im taking very good care of him. As far as Im concerned the Vet's suggestions are written in stone. And if she wants him to get two kinds of eyedrops, and anti-inflammatory and a decongestant each day, then by god thats whet he's going to get.

:lightning

Yep. Pretty much. I also have the option of giving him half a tablet of children's chewable aspirin, but I go with the prescription stuff. Nothing but the best drugs for my boy! lol

Aw man...I just ripped the Netflix envelope....the one containing that great movie I watched.

I know someone who once gave their sick hamster children's tylenol. The vet told them to give the hamster tylenol, but didn't tell them how much to give, so they gave a full dose.

Needless to say the hamster didn't live much longer.:(

On the other hand, I still laugh at the thought of such a tiny animal taking that much medication (yes, I'm riding shotgun on the buss to hell)

Preco is right. You can give your pets "people" medicine only in appropriate amounts, but you should only do so if directed by your vet or if you do adminster meds to them in case of an emergency, be sure to follow with a visit to the vet.

My brother is a vet - he hooks me up! :bigok: But I have given Sadie and Luce my allergy medicine when they have the sneezies!

Huh? Sure I do. Just not in the same way that most people do.. But I'm not going to have that conversation here. lol

You my friend are a very very wise man! DO NOT speak about religion HERE!

And one can give "people medications" only if they are recommended by the Vet. Shucks, I give Jeb Stuart children's benedryl usually at night to help him breathe. Tristan use to get Singulair, Flovent, Albuterol, and Benedryl. Towards the end, we gave him Vicodin for the pain. Some medications will work on some species and not others. You take very good care of my good friend Bubba and he loves and appreciates you for it all. Besides, our pets are worth it!

My baby is sick today for the very first time in his life. :(

Thanks Butty. He is holding up pretty good and maybe milking a little too. He talked to his Daddy who is at the store picking up medicine and he just told me that Daddy is getting him a toy. lol

Wow- the first time? How old is he, K-ma? I hope he feels much better soon!!!!

He will be 3 in July. He has had a sniffle here and there due to his allergies, but today he has a fever, cough, stuffed up and runny nose! He is a healthy boy!
Thanks for your well wishes Blue!

Are you going to save the goo, you know, a la first haircut, first lost tooth, etc...

Dawwahhhhh poor little man! Not to fear, usually about two there immunity seems to decrease. Mostly due to exposures to others and environmental exposures. And it is springtime with all the allergens floating around. Let's hope he feels better soon, and, GIVE THAT BABY A TOY!!!:)

Big hugs from Rags and Jeb who also sends along sloppy Shih Tzu kisses!
