Nominees for "Stupidest Human Stunt of the Year" award

I hope your surgery/recovery goes smoothly. I would imagine that these past weeks have been filled with their share of pain, so maybe your recovery period will actually seem "easier/faster." Enjoy the benefits of the anesthesia - that's some high quality shut-eye! :)

Whatever you do...

Surgery tomorrow FINALLY!!

...don't request a bottle of coke right before they knock you out.

You don't want to be an avatar.

My spill down the stairs was June 2007....so Dan....You won the prize.....

As for surgery on my head to repair the big knot that's still there.....not to worry....they said it was a hollow organ and therefore no internal damage....:twitch:

Hope it goes well for you.....just remember to mark you legs with "operate here" and "it's the other leg Bozo"........:noidea:....ya never know :photo: what they'll do when they knock you out:zzz:, make sure your underwear is clean..:nurse:...

And remember to check for pens before you sit up....:yikes:

I wish you well Dan & a speedy recovery.....

Get well soon and come back and post some useful freebies in your free time

Hope everything went well! Speedy recovery.

Hope your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly!!

Finally back from the Hospital today.
Thank you all for your well-wishes and prayers. They did manage to put all the pieces back together. I would have been home 1-2 days sooner, but being in a hospital on a major holiday is not such a good idea.

Thanks to everyone.
The surgery went well. There was no ligament damage, in the traditional sense. The spot on my tibia where the ACL connects was no longer connected to the rest of the tibia. He put in (as best I remember him telling me) 6 lag screws and then a plate and more screws to hold it in place. He said he would allow no bending (and therefore no therapy?) until the bones were mending back together. He doesn't want the ACL pulling it's chunk of bone out of place.
My first follow-up visit is Monday morning. He's going to replace all the dressings and such. I think I'll take the full complement of pain meds in preparation for that one!

I'm glad the surgery went well and I am more sorry that I didn't see this post, even though I knew it was here....I feel like an idiot.:blushing:
Here's to a speedy recovery.

Dan..... if it makes you feel any better , I fell down a flight of stairs today. dislocated my toe and .......... I must say I would rather give birth to a baby hippo than EVER EVER dislocate anything again ......... think big needles and lots of yanking and pulling on a toe that I could not even stand to touch

Back from the post-op visit.
doc is happy with everything
BUT
I can't put any weight on my knee for 3 months!
No driving, walking on crutches until April
That's gonna be tough!

So Dan, you're a bucket of nuts & bolts now?

Are you going to be able to work? 3 months is a rough deal......:yesnod:

Glad it went well - - - 3 months, is a long time.....think how ripped your arms will be from the crutches...your forearms anyways....

I hate crutches! I would rather have a wheelchair!

Think how your pants will be ripped from an expanding butt......that happens with limited mobility.....:yesnod:.....no chips & beer Dan, just celery sticks & water....

Thanks, all.
Yes, K-Ma, I'll look like Popeye.
No, Preco, I don't drink beer, so no "Ripped Uranus"

So where are you going to go for Spring Break?

It will be about time for you to let it rip!
