McDonald's - 49 cent Hamburger / 59 cent Cheeseburger - YMMV

mcdonald's deal a dud

no mention on mcd's website. Went into a McD in the Atlanta area -- manager said they didn't know anything about it.

A non-verified spoofee deal!

I remember working at McDonalds back in the day. We'd have one customer come through who would get the special cheeseburgers, but minus anything except the meat and ketchup.

I just sent an email to McDonald's... I will let you know what they tell me.

That might have been me! Having never liked meat when I was a kid I would order a cheeseburger w/o the meat.LOL

No go at my McDs in Oxford Michigan. They did say they had a $1 promotion this summer for drinks. Every size drink is $1. I shrugged and went about my day. Supposedly my meal was supposed to be cheaper.

good point about the double cheeseburger but I have heard that due to rising food and transportation costs, the days of the "dollar" menus may be numbered!

Rising HMO and dr bills costs too

Then their sales numbers will be numbered too. They only created the dollar menu to compete with Wendy's. It's the only way they could get cheapskates like me to eat there; otherwise I'd be at Wendys or any other fast food joint.

Even with all these fancy value menus, NOTHING beats the everyday $0.79 chicken soft tacos at Del Taco...

No Deal Here.

I just hit up a local Mickey Ds here in Oregon with no such luck. :(:worry:

ymmv means this?

Yes, 'Your Mileage May Vary', as in this might work at your local store, it might not.

On a related note, I'd like to suggest a new one that is particularly relevant with $4+/gallon gas: YGMBW, which stands for 'Your Gas Might Be Wasted'... if you drive to the store for a deal without calling them first.

And we as americans wonder why we are over weight....)

No we don't! It's shoved down our throats every day. :ohwell:

And the ones talking about the doubles being a better deal. Ever try to split any kind of food betwixt your kids? Most of it ends up on the floor. Speaking from experience...

I went to two McD's in my area while I was out picking up some groceries. Neither of them had heard of it. How do these "deals" get onto the main page?

Burger King in my town has kids' night on Tuesdays. 99c Big Kids meals and 2.49 (?) Whopper meals. Seeing as they don't have milk (my son is deathly allergic) in their food (McD's has it in their fries), it's the best deal going.

Good question, considering no one has had any luck in this thread. Has anyone been able to confirm this anywhere? Or is this a deal where one lone McD's in the middle of Nebraska is runing the special?

You know what a great act of kindness it would be . . .

If every person who walks in there spends 5 bucks to buy 10 burgers and give it to some homeless people. You can feed so many hungry people with such alittle money :claps: . . .

Hey Everyone, I just saw an ad for this on TV during "So You think You Can Dance"

It said available Monday and Wednesday throughout the summer.
Guess this is for real!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dammit. I'm dieting too. Maybe on my "off" day. (^.~)

Anyone remember Taco bell Tuesdays and/or Sundays? 49 cent tacos FTW!!

Taco Bell for $.49 each twice a week .... and now you are dieting, related? :convinced:

Too bad I am in the middle of my monthly diet -- I figure, it only last for about 10 days each time I start and today is the 5th ... so that is the middle.

This promotion IS valid, however only in certain areas

Here's some info I found about it:

"Confirmed! McDonald's 49cent Hamburger ~ 59cent Cheeseburger Summer Promotion.

Limit of 10 per person(order) - NO coupon required.

Commercial was from a National channel...Should be Nation Wide

UPDATE: 6/5/2008 8:30am. Confirmed with McD corporate: "It's a National Summer Long Promotion"!

HOWEVER, Subject to LOCAL Franchise and Store Participation.
Most Larger States and Markets should have Participating stores. Smaller markets most likely SOL.

If a commercial appears in your market you are GOLDEN (pun intended) or call local store...(in this case OK to call)"

Just don't end up looking like this guy:

LOL

Our McDonalds here has had this deal all year so far but only on Wednesdays (Florida)

ha ha, that's a good one; very true.

well, last night i got a neat freebie that falls into the junk/fast food category. last week, i received a coupon for a free johnsonville brat (bratwurst... basically a hot dog) at the chevron extra mile convenient store... basically another kwik-e mart. anyway, i redeemed my coupon last night. that was my junk/fast food fix for the week. LOL
