January Allure Giveaways

said I would receive my item in 2 weeks. Well it was 11am in Oklahoma and worked guess I got the time change correct! I got the same message yesterday. Last month was in no way this easy I never got in

Well, I entered at 12:01pm on the dot and got:
Congratulations!
You will receive your item in 2 weeks.

Should I be thrilled....or bummed that the contest message is wrong? I HATE NOT KNOWING!!!! Grrrrrrrr....

Sadly, it started taking submissions with the same response at 11:57am. I just don't get it.

I seriously doubt that the message we are getting is the correct one. This is the same message they gave out months ago (June, July?)--but then, when they had given out their three or four items (ha, ha), they would say that it was over. Of course, no one received anything in two weeks--it was more like 10 weeks. This month, it is clearly a random draw based on the rules, so I'm just entering each day and hoping for a win or two.

Sorry--this is the wrong thread--this is for the "Resolution" thread. The January thread just says "Thanks for Entering."

ok this is backwards

Allure seems to be confused!!

I entered the sweeps Freebie, one product a day for 14 days
with 150 random winners and was told:
Congratulations!
You will receive your item in 2 weeks.

I entered the regular 12 noon first of the month giveaway
which is normally first come first serve and jammed and got:

Thanks for entering the Free Stuff Sweepstakes.
Good Luck!

This is the opposite of what the Allure web pages say when they describe these promotions.

hope i got something from all of this!

The first is a random draw (Resolution), and the second is the first 500, but they don't tell you if you won or not (why they're using the word "sweepstakes" is confusing). Good luck.

Ah, I was wondering how people were getting a "congratulations" message while I just got a "thank you" message. I see the source of the confusion now. :)

January 3: Pure & Natural Liquid Hand Soap in Cleansing Rosemary and Mint
The invigorating scent makes frequent hand washing pleasurable. The first 500 Allure readers to sign up at noon EST on December 4 will receive one free.

Must be a typo?

I really think Allure should start hiring people with at least a high school diploma. This "circling-the-parking-lot-at-the-mall-and-kidnapping-anyone-with-a-pulse-thing" just isn't working.

January 4: N.V. Perricone, M.D. Cosmeceuticals Ceramic Eye Smoother
Micronized ceramic beads help firm crinkly undereye skin; vitamin C and light-reflecting pigments brighten it. The first 500 Allure readers to enter at noon EST on January 4 will receive one free.

Linky dink

Question to ponder...

So, if the Makeover Resolution begins at 12:01, yet seems to open and accept entries 4 minutes early, then can we assume that the clocks at Allure are screwy?

Please see post #29 in this thread!

But these are random anyway...however, the regular monthly ones are not, so it would be nice to see their clock.

Alright, I've tried posting on the forums to see iif it matched my clock.
I've got my PC clock pulling down the time from the atomic clock.

Now, I'm going to admit my shameless attempt to figure them out. I entered the freestuff as soon as the makeover resolution opened up. So, we'll see...

That was kinda my thought, too - maybe we'll hit one this month! Good luck, huh?:convinced:

They are eastern time I live in WI and they are an hour later than me. Just check your time zone difference.

Sorry, Ellie. I was responding the Eva_Marie's inquiry about the Resolution drawings. This IS the regular Jan. thread--and good luck on the Jan. 7th entry--hope you are one of the first 500!

Sorry, ellie. I was pondering Allure and it's inability to set clocks, or have them auto-sync. I've resigned myself to just accept the fact that they can't get all of their servers on the same clock for some reason. You'd think the folks they're snagging from the street could handle that...
