I need help with computer settings

My guess is that you have a corrupt Adobe Flash install. I would first uninstall it by going into your Control Panel and choosing Add/Remove Programs. Look for Adobe Flash Player ActiveX or anything similar to it. Uninstall it then reboot the computer.

I would then reinstall it from here.

I have done what you have recommended. My IE still closes.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and have you maybe check for viruses. You can go here and run a scan to see if anything comes up. I really don't know why it won't work.

I run my virus scan every week.

Thank you for your time & help!

I ran the scan and found a hacking tool but I didn't realize they want $$$$ to remove it! :( Only the 'scan' is free....:(

What did you do to BB&Y?

I think that it is all a plot by BB&Y -

They don't want you looking at their stuff.;)

That is the only reason I can come up with that this is the only web site that is giving you a problem.

True, but I always save the report. That tells you the file that is causing the problem. Then you can boot into safe mode and usually delete it. If there is a hacking tool on there, try the AntiRootKit tool, which is also free but does remove malicious programs. (Be sure to choose the option to do a full, detailed scan which requires a reboot of your system.)

Thanks Spaz, I'll do that tomorrow! ;)

*anyone smell smoke around here?*:convinced:

Spaz, Do you know of any good (Free) Trojan cleaners. I like to use moosoft's The Cleaner, but after 30 days it expires. Everytime I clean someone's PC I will use it to remove Trojans, but like I said, I can only Use it a couple times before it expires.

(Or will the Anti rootkit SW work good for Trojans too, from your experience)

What are you cooking?

Install Firefox - it will work.

If dead set on using IE are you all updated with the latest bug fixes?
Do you have virus software and other safety things installed? Possibly your browser has been hijacked.

I shop at Bed, Bath & Beyond...that is the site I am having a problem with.

What JerryP is saying is to download this program, Firefox, and install it on your computer. Firefox is another Web browser like Internet Explorer. Then open Firefox and go to Bed, Bath & Beyond with it and you shouldn't have any problems.

Congrats MadonnaP! Glad it works.

Here is one for personal use:
http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

Emsi Software provides the Malware scanner a-squared Free completely free of charge for private use. But it is not a very limited version, it is a full tool to clean your computer from Malware. Not only Spywares, as detected by classic Anti-Spyware programs, but also especially Trojans, Backdoors, Worms, Dialers, Keyloggers and a lot of other destructive pests, which makes it dangerous to surf the web.
