How much did you pay for gas today??

$2.21 @ the Exxon down the street. I will NEVER buy gas at BJ's again unless something changes. They are cutting their fuel with something that is causing very poor gas mileage. (maybe it's just our local one...) Our gas mileage fell by almost half when we were filling up there. We started getting gas down the Rd at the Exxon and our mileage shot back up again. Hmmmm...isn't that illegal?

Sounds like a high percentage of ethanol.

Are they allowed to do that? We wasted sooo much money buying gas there because we thought we were getting a deal. (Until we realized what it was doing to our gas mileage, we thought perhaps something was wrong with the car we just bought. :()

I don't know all the laws, but I think it has to be posted that it is a ethanol blend and the percentage.
This is the truth behind ethanol, there is less energy per volume. If you get 20MPG with gasoline, you'll get about 10 with ethanol. It also takes more energy to produce it than it contains. In other words (and these numbers are not accurate) To produce 500 BTUs worth of ethanol, it takes 600 BTUs of energy.

$2.09/gal at most stations in Richmond, KY. A few had it for $2.07/gal.

Around $2.16 on the Left Central Coast of FL

It's down to $2.19 at our closest station now. It's probably slightly less somewhere around here. Many gas stations in the area love to gouge the tourists with high gas prices. But that means they get us too. :( It's been a bit better lately in regards to that though.

Today it dropped down to $1.88gal. here.....
Two days ago when i filled up it was $1.95....

Some places here in the great state of Maryland are under two bucks by a few pennies. However, here on our tranquil island, we are still close to $2.25. I just wait to fill up when I see a cheap place to pull into and take advantage of the same. Shucks, as long as I don't see three and four dollars a gallon for awhile, I am happy.

cool, american car companies can recover by selling their hulking suv's again

Oils is below $50/barrel. The price at the pump should be closer to $1.50.
