Gettin Used to the New Spoofee

Did anyone notice -- we're not in beta anymore. This is actual commercial version 3.7.0.

the latest commercial release of vBulletin is 3.6.10.
version 3.7.0 release candidate 3 means the stuff we're using isn't even available to the general public.

so I suppose this is a public beta, and when you're running beta, you've got to expect to do a little bit of bug reporting. (in addition to the fact that the vBulletin guys added a slew of features since the previous version Spoofee was running.)

OK - so what IS this reputation reporting thing?Can I find out what others have written or reported about me and, aside from the social groups, what else is new? Please help ---- I am SOOOOOOOOOO lost here and I just wanna make sure that I'm on positive ground here at my favorite website! :worry: And PS: What are "tags"?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. But it's a feature I didn't find useful, so I disabled the display of it.

As for the tags, it looks as though it's an attempt to enhance the search function, by allowing you to add descriptive terms which may help you find a post, at some point in the future, and to attach a common term to posts which you associate with eachother. When you go into Tag Search, I find it interesting to see the Tag Cloud, which is a graphic representation of how common each tag is.

So almost like a hyperlink to common threads or something? I'm not too computer savvy...I don't even know what that VBulletin stuff is all about :noidea: Kinda all Plutonian to me:)

yes, very much like a link to common threads. and since the users define the tags, they develop according to what the users find helpful.

vBulletin is just the name of the software that runs the forums.
 
I simply can't figure out how to restore my reputation. I don't like that little black box at all! Help! The instructions that Precocious gave seem clear, but I don't see a 2nd box???

Click on User CP / Edit Options / check the box under 'Show Your Reputation level'

Well, I just came back after a long dry spell. And boy have things changed. Not sure if it is better or worse. I can't seem to find anythng and the things I do find I have no clue how to use them. LOL Not sure if I like this. And what is this stuff about friends list? Are we going to have instant messenger next? I have a friend request but have no clue how to activate, get rid of it, or use it. I think I like the old spoofee better.
 
OK, I am really confused now, which is not hard to do. Are we not supposed to make thank you posts on the thread anymore? Is that what I am reading? And I absolutely have no clue what the smiley face thingy is and rep points are. Oh well. Guess I will go back into the lurker status and just come by and look at the freebies and go on my merry way. Don't want to post something that I am not supposed to and get in trouble. So I will say Thank you in advance for all the great posts you guys put up here and if I happen to run across something that has not already been posted then I will make my voice heard LOL. Have fun and you all take care, it has been fun.

well apparently you guys haven't been keeping up. Spoofee went through a vbulletin upgrade. Therefore.. there are some changes in the forums that we are all testing and playing with. So.. since you guys don't want to be patient and test out the new features with us.... faretheewell..

You are absolutely right, I haven't been keeping up. Simply because I am a full time student and don't have as much time to spend here as I would like. Getting to visit this site is like taking a kid to the candy store and saying take all you want, for me. I do love this site and would hate to get banned from here simply because I don't know what is and isn't allowed to be posted and where the correct place to post is. Therefore it is best for me to lurk until I figure out what is what. It isn't about my patience, I have all the patience in the world. But it would have been nice if there was a post about what changes took place during the vbulletin upgrade and how to use them like I have seen other forums do (and if there is one I haven't been able to locate it so if anyone knows where there are directions on how to use the new features I would be more than happy to read and learn from it).
 
i understand we are all busy. I'm just trying to let you know that with the upgrade came a bunch of features that we didnt know about. All of us are figuring them out, including moderators and spoofee himself. So of course, we don't quite have instructions on how to use them yet. We won't ban you for trying to figure things out along with us. But if you are busy and feel more comfortable lurking, that is completely fine.
