BP is a big gas station. They've gone through a lot of rebranding lately and they just bought Amoco locally in my area, so they're becoming pretty big.
 
BP, as far as I understand it, stands for British Petrolium. As Erik said, it's a gas/oil company who changed their name to the shortened BP so that people wouldn't associate the British with it and not buy it for being unamerican (Kinda like HSBC and tons of other companies). Here in Western, NY (Rochester) I have not seen any BP stations around.

I believe the original company was Sohio which started in Ohio. This is a company started by Rockerfeller in the early 1900's. Sohio/Boron was then bought out by BP (British Petrol). So there you have it.
 
Arco Stations with BP Logo's

Up in the Northwest, I've seen some Arco stations with BP Logo's on their pumps. I'm wasn't aware of any relationship, but the cards might work there too.

I didn't get any confirmation or congrats, so it might be over now... unless I missed something. :banghead:

Just received mine today, so be on the look out.

I almost just tossed the envelope in the garbage because it looked like junk mail. It was a white envelope that said "Open Immediately, You're a Winner". I just figured it was some sort of garbage contest. So make sure to double check before you toss the junk mail. LOL
 
Got mine in the mail today - also almost threw it out without checking.
 
Got mine. It only works for premium gas. Well, I guess my car's getting a treat.

I just got mine yesterday. Thank you for describing what it looked like when it came in the mail. Had I not read this post just recently, I'd probably have thrown it away. With gas around $1.86-$1.90 in my area (at this hour), that'll get a bit over 2½ gallons.

If I lived in a warmer state and owned a moped that'd fill it up a couple of times. :hmm:

LOL! I think I threw mine out! Oh well, I got my sister one so at least someone in our family is getting use of the promo!
 
I got a card, but where can you find Amoco Ultimate? From their website, it seems like only Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee... does anyone know if it can be used in other states?
 
On the back of the card it says it "can be used for the purchase of goods and services (except for lottery tickets, money orders and prepaid cards) at participating BP and ARCO stations."

I interpret this to mean that the card can be used for any type of gas or merchandise in the store. I think it's just a promo for Amoco Ultimate so they're trying to push that product but that's not all it can be used on.
 
i got my 5 dollar gift card about a month or so ago. then 2 days ago i got a little suprise, i won the 3rd place prize, a 25 dollar card :) i dont have a car so i dont need the gas, but the cards can be used for snacks and drinks and such.
