I had a friend order a laptop from Dell & it wasn't what she wanted so they told her to send it back & they'd give a full refund. She used it, downloaded stuff, etc. for about a week before asking about a return. All she had to do was pay shipping back. Also, it was during a free printer promo & they told her to keep the printer so she actually made out in the deal.

This was in August 2004 so it's possible that their policy has changed since then. I double-checked on the details and my friend said she just called customer service and they were very helpful -- gave her a return authorization number over the phone, she sent it back, and it was credited to her credit card in less than a week.

Of course, I could see Dell changing their policy if this is a common occurrence.

yea maybe .. don't know but right now i plan to keep them anyway... it only cost 850 for 700m which is really good price

wow! you customized it and got it that low of a price? that's pretty darn good.....after taxes my 6000 model came out to be 1210.09......which is pretty high for me, i hope that is a good smart range to buy a mode like that, which seems old.

Been lurking the site for several months, and I just now decided to sign up. lol...I was able to get the 700m for $954 using the coupon! Upgraded to a 60 gig HD, 512 MB ram and a dvd burner. Got the laptop today and it totally rocks. Much smaller than I expected. I also upgraded the battery and it looks like it can hold a 5 hour charge.

Can't wait till another deal like this comes. Definately going to get another one.

yeah, i got my 6000 model two days ago...man, it is pretty huge in screen which is good....the weight.....is okay..... I guess i need to buy a security cable, can't be showing that off too much at my university, i hear a lot of laptops get stolen pretty often.......
