(Closed) Free Auto Check like Carfax

I am all for a good deal, but Autocheck is a paid subscription. By using that link you are stealing from Autocheck. If any paid subscriber to Autocheck (like me) post their email address here, you could go to the Autocheck website and run as many free vin's as you wanted. While it would be free to you... someone pays for it. In this case, looks like someone from Foster Motors in Middlebury, VT wrote a script to auto log into Koons College Park Fords account. This violates Autochecks terms of service and will force Autocheck to put more security up so subscribers like me will have to put in more passwords and security checks just to use our paid service.

Just my 2 cents as a paid subscriber to Autocheck ;)

They should have had the added security in the first place. Obviously they are charging for a service and you are not getting your money's worth if this is possible.

I paid 20 bucks and it saved me from buying a water logged SUV and helped me purchase a vehicle that had a clean record. So I am a happy AutoCheck customer that got a great value, thanks AutoCheck! :claps:

THIS DOES NOT WORK

The VIN must match what the dealer has in stock. If you try a random VIN, it tells you so.

This is NOT a security breach. This is NOT abuse. This is INDENDED use- the dealers pay to allow you to search any VIN from cars that THEY SELL.

It's not what the original poster thinks it is, however.

I think this may be expired. This is the message I received.

Invalid VIN - XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The vin must match a vehicle currently offered for sale at the Dealership selected.

It worked for me, I put in my son's cars to check them out and they came up.
Maybe they got wind of what was going on.

Wouldn't that be funny if AutoCheck back traced all of these VIN numbers, got all of your names and addresses, and then sent you all bills for these VIN checks?

Wouldn't that be funny if AutoCheck went through the logs pertaining to Koons College Park Ford, got all of your names and addresses from these VIN numbers, and then sent you all bills? Or better yet, filed electronic fraud charges against you? Perhaps if both Koons College Park Ford AND AutoCheck filed charges! Yay stealing!

Agreed with darktide

yeah he's right

I called the Koons dealership. They DO pay PER report, so in effect you are stealing from them. . Let's keep Spoofee honest. I brought this post to their attention and they are contacting the company that contracts out this "Carfax" for them.
