Since your body is a natural filter...

If you drank your own urine over and over again would you eventually get potable water?

I'll let you test that theory out all by yourself, Choo.

Dear Mr. Squid....do your finger prints 'grow' back????

For instance, you burn the pads of your fingers pretty bad and there is scar tissue, will your finger prints eventually return as the layers of dermis 'wear off'?

No. The urine is the stuff that gets filtered out. But urine is sterile so its safe to drink anyway. Might not taste good, but its safe. But some people swear by drinking the first pee of the morning to recoup any minerals and vitamins that may have been filtered. (gross).

Fingerprints grow back unless the skin is very horribly scarred. And if it was too scarred to read the print, even scars on fingertips have enough fine detail to make a positive match.

I didnt have anything to do with it. Maybe you should ask preco since shes worried about the prints.

This is a question that was asked over and over a decade or so back. Remember the Wendy's commercials? "WHERE'S THE BEEF?"

And where in the world IS Carman SanDiego??

Quick question.. Why does Spoofee's page say "All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:01 AM." when I know for a fact that Im GMT -6, and its 11:01 here. It cant be 11:01 at both GMT -6 and GMT -5. GMT -5 should be 12:01 when the GMT -6 is 11:01.
What gives?

Is it normal for people to talk to themselves or ask themselves questions? :hmm:
I have noticed that old people seem to do this and being a baby boomer myself I have suspected it's because we just don't GAF any more since. I'll check with me later and see what I say

I have another question for you, why do some people start a sentence with the word "or"?

Why shouldnt they? Youre not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition. Beginning with one is ok, but only in certain usages. I need a more specific example, BD.

What galleries are you speaking of Livesquid?
OK here's a legit question. Why is it when I sing I get the yawnies. I know it has something to do w/ me taking in too much air but I need a more detailed explanation. Thanks!!

the galleries are offline for maintenance right now else Id give a link.

You yawn because you need oxygen, not because of an excess. Also, if you try, you can force a yawn by hold ing your moth open and trying really hard (or at least I can) and so if you sing loudly with your mouth opened wide, youre prolly gonna yawn.

I missed so many questions!

I don't sing w/ my mouth wide open. :(
I play a game w/ my mom where we sit there and make each other yawn.

I really thought I answered that. I looked it up and everything. Damn. Now I forgot what I learned..

There are two types of covalent bonds: sigma and pi bonds. Sigma bonds occur when s orbitals, p orbitals pointing along the axis to the other bonding atom, or hybridized orbitals collide and overlap. Pi bonds occur when p orbitals (usually those left over from orbital hybridization) perpendicular to the axis of bonding overlap.

Single-order bonds are always σ bonds. Sigma bonds are like taking the index finger from each hand and pointing them directly at each other, so one fingertip touches another. Just as you can rotate your fingers without losing contact, bonded atoms can rotate freely about a sigma bond.

Pi bonds make up the second bond in a double bond and the second and third in a triple bond. Pi bonds are like pointing two fingers at the ceiling and moving them sideways until they touch. Unlike sigma bonds, pi bonds cannot rotate and maintain the bond; you can see this in our finger model, as turning your fingers out of alignment breaks the connection. Therefore, double or triple-bonded atoms cannot rotate relative to each other.

(plaigarized, but paraphrased)

Well, I do it, but I like to consider it "thinking out loud". Sometimes it helps to get a clearer understanding or a better grasp on the situation to hear it as opposed to thinking it. Im gonna say its normal. But who the hell are we to define what normal is?

Dear Mr. Squid, who was that question for?

O.k. Squid, this question was in my son's Nick magazine but I was to see if you know the answer.

If the body's normal temperature is 98.6 why do we feel hot when we are in that temperature outside?
