Check your local utility company for nest rebates before purchase. Depending on provider some even give rebates of 100 off which is a better deal then this. Most are 50 I’ve seen.
 
don't buy the Nest thermostat, lots of issues and a lot of them break after a year
 
So yours broke which means all Nests have a problem and they break within a year? I have one for at least a year with absolutely zero problems and it has been nothing but great.
