Things Remembered $10 off coupon for $10+ (YMMV)

Thanks for this freebie! (Or nearly freebie since I went on and had mine shipped.) Got a flask for my cousin.
 
I'd never been in a TR store before, but nothing could keep me out with that $10 coupon in my hand. I was lucky. The poor manager (the only one there) was stuck with a group of people who didn't know what the hell they were ordering, and it went on and on and on. He and I kept looking at each other. Anyway, I found a silver-plated calculator on clearance for $9.99 and hoped for the best. He didn't say anything, and just rang it up. When I looked at my receipt, he had put it in for $10 and then took off the $10. He did enter me into the computer as a new customer, so I guess I can't do it again (at least not at that location). Second time, my husband will become a new customer w/office address. He liked the store, too (well, he would have if he ever went there).
 
Like I said on the coupon it doesn't state must be $10.00 or more..but it DOES STATE: Cannot get a refund of the difference if less then $10.00 so it does NOT have to be $10.00. Go back gals and make a stink! Afterall that's what we gals know how to do to get a freebie! ;-)

This is a common problem--Victoria's Secret's coupons say the same thing (the $10 Bday one), but to avoid arguments, I usually try to find something for $10 even. And CVS coupons sometimes say "UP TO $XXX"). I agree they should honor it on a $10 OR LESS item, but sometimes they are just pricky about it. I seriously always have this problem at JC Penney--and sometimes they'll push the button on the computer and sometimes they won't. The computer will def. take it on less than $10, but the clerks won't always cooperate. The last time, the clerk turned the screen towards me to show me it was saying "Minimum Sale not Met" or something--and it had two buttons underneath....they said something like "Yes" and "No." I just pushed the button that said yes, and my $9.99 sale went thru. I thought the woman was going to have a heart attack! But now I know how to make it work!
 
I just got back from Things Remembered with my $2.00 key chain after the $10 off coupon. Boy, do they have a LOT of cute jewelry-bracelets mostly. I just didn't need another one and now have purchased a gift for my nephew's college graduation next year.:clap:
I didn't want to get into the $9.99 thing so I didn't even bother to look at anything that price so I wouldn't have to be ridiculed at the register if they weren't going to put it thru. :rant:

I was there today and I got this notepad thingy with the calendar and time and boy the sales associate's attitude changed the minute she saw my coupon, she had this look and it took her 10mins figuring out how to put the coupon in but it didnt bother me at all because i was getting it for free :)
 
I went today and got two sawarski cyrstal earpods rockstar and an Italian leather ID holder all for $2.00 Thanks so much for the post!!!!!

:blushing: thanks :) After reading some of the things you guys went through I built up my tolerance and patience with these people so thanks guys!
 
they just adjusted the price to make the total $10. So I got 2 @ 4.99 pocket
knives. price adjusted to $5 each and made it $10 so it was free. I said the coupon did not say I had to buy over $10.. just that I did not get any money back.
 
They are now offering $4 Standard Shipping on all orders. Offers are valid with online and phone orders only! This offer is subject to change at any time. Coupon code would not work online (customer service said they were having problems with it). I called in order and received $10 off and $4 shipping. Great post. Thanks!
 
I just got an e-mail saying "Thanks for signing up!" They had taken my info in the store when I used the $10 coupon. This e-mail includes a $5 off your next purchase coupon for online or in-store purchases. Promo code S2K5, exp. 8/24. Do not know how to put the actual coupon here--sorry. Maybe someone else will get it and will know how to attach it.
 
just got back and got the bookmark, really nice my m-i-l would like it she reads lots of books.
 
I might have to get a travel alarm clock for work too! I'll be going in with my family so we'll have a bunch of cool free(cheap) stuff to take home with us.
 
Went in today and tried getting a world travel clock for $9.99. Cashier tried using the coupon but it didnt let her since the discount ($10) was greater than the item($9.99). So you do have to get something worth $10 or more.

They can price modify the item to $10 and then take off the $10. That's what they did for me with a $9.99 item. Maybe try again.
