Wow Big Daddy...that's pretty spectacular. :claps:

Thank you. That's why I moved from NY. As you very well know, you can't build a house like that in NY unless you're Oprah or Bill Gates. ;)

Here's my humble abode:

What no snow man in the front yard, I could picture you having a snow family in your yard.

Nice house :claps:

Thanks, Choo! That was during the walk-through, so we technically didn't live there at the time. Plus we rarely get enough snow to make a snow raccoon, nevertheless a whole family.

Nice house BD!!!!! It's huge :hail: :hail: :hail:

OMG that's like the biggest house I've ever seen. Must be nice to be you :clown: Share the wealth.

Babs, your house is so sweet! Remember Babs, size doesn't matter :o...
I like the flowers and that's a great tree. I also like the colors of your home, very welcoming.

Thanks, babs and JMB!

I just lucked out and still pinch pennies (obviously). The house I bought on Lawnguyland more than doubled in appreciation over the few years I owned it and I was able to build a house in a reasonably priced area in VA (although the area isn't reasonably priced anymore). The timing was just right.

BTW, I leave my house to go to work a little after 6am every morning and normally get home around 7:30pm every day. Do you still want to be me??

Also as preco said, "Size doesn't matter". Does it?

Thank you so much Preco. It's a Cape Cod. They were actually built for the war veterns(WW2) families back in the 50's.

This is a simple Ranch, 3 bdrm 1000 sq. ft. on a slab. We made a few modifications, (it now has a laundry room) and upgrades. It was built in 1959.
Still not finished with it, but it will take time...

Those are 'dutch capes'? I've been in a few of them....very spacious and well appointed. Nice pic!

CrazyButt, don't feel bad. I grew up in a rental apartment! You can make any home beautiful, you just need to put your personality into it! ;)

Daredevil...is that the new one or the previous one? I see gutters, did you lie or just sell the ones from the back??? Seriously, it's a nice house, wish I lived there growing up. (On a slab means no leaky basement ;) )

Is that dutch colonial or dutch cape? My first house was a dutch colonial. I still miss it. :(

I agree with preco. ;) I grew up in a 2BR, 1BA apartment with 2 older siblings and my parents. I lived there for almost the first 20 years of my life. As I said above, I just totally lucked out with my second home's appreciation and was able to buy a big house in a reasonably priced area. FYI I never would have been able to get my current house without the proceeds from my NY house. Plus I'm Big Daddy, so I need a big house to fit me in it.

Did you seriously think i sold my gutters???? That was an old line of a joke i heard several years ago, i thought everyone had heard it! Sorry if you took it seriously.....and no, i'm not moving to Indiana....yes i like the fact that its all one level...one good reason i bought it.

P.S. Gonna start calling you the Gullable one;)

Gee Big Daddy, that is a large house but the door is so small to fit that big head of your's through. You must enter through the garage :o :p
