I actually really enjoyed the movie. They did a good job of keeping a lot of the book in there. I didn't really experience any big, "Hey wait a second, in the book blah blah blah..." moments. Sure, there were things cut short and/or left out, but nothing big that I can remember. As to the question posed in the subject, it's not a documentary. It's a good mystery movie about solving puzzles based on Christian lore with some betrayal, action, and a little bit of romantic chemistry thrown in. As was said earlier the core ideas brought forth in the movie and book have been around for quite some time now, so to act like these "revelations" are anything new is a bit silly. It's an interesting theory, Jesus having a bloodline that still exists today and all. The connection from Holy Grail to challice to womb to Jesus' pregnant wife is intriguing; it's certainly not beyond reason. All this hub-bub shown in the media about the movie is just attention seeking nonsense. If they're so strong in their beliefs, why do they feel this threatened by a simple movie? If someone tells me that my blood is really raspberry jam you won't see me getting all bent outta shape. It's always good to keep an open mind about things otherwise you'll never know when you might actually be wrong.
