Target Is Anti-christmas

Target is Anti-Ramadan, Anti-Chanukah, and Anti-Devil Worship Day Too!

Wow, thats pretty bold to start accusing Target of being Anti-Christmas. Should we also start threads on Target is: Anti-Kwanza, Anti-Diwali, Anti-Chanukah, and Anti-Devil Worship Day, too? And all band together like lemmings and sign petitions, and email at least 5 copies to all your friends? Where is that petition to ban Target because they don't hang slogans inside their stores proclaiming "Happy Ramadan!" I think this is the same crowd of people that think Procter and Gamble is a company run by Satan and Rock-n-Roll is the music of the Devil. I'll go to Target over Wal-mart any day.

All retail chains have adopted "Happy Holidays" instead of saying Merry Christmas cause you gotta be so PC now adays.

Okay - maybe a bit more than 2 cents here....
1. Obviously this group here has computers and knows how to read. Obviously, we're a bit educated and care very deeply and love our children and want to see them do better in life than ourselves. We are very fortunate. We are also fortunate to live in the best country in the world and can express our opinions and carry on our lifestyles with certain liberal freedoms........ There are those who live in our country who are not at our 'level'. In Louisiana, they couldn't give an accurate accounting of people because many births happen 'at home'. Some people barely find an existence in this country. Teach sex ed in school because these are the people our children are going to deal with in the future. If they are not getting it at home, they'll get it from somewhere else. I can give it to mine in my home but I can't give it to everyone else yet I will be obliged to spend my TAXES taking care of their 'unplanned children' and help pay the bill for their 'illnesses' which could have been avoided by a basic bird and the bees class. Educate, educate, educate...
2. Target. Great store, nice quality merchandise at a fair price for a 'discount' store. They donate $$$$ to many places (schools high on their list). Did they 'BAN' the use of Merry Christmas or just say "happy Holidays' to simplify the peace gesture to include all? It makes me crazy to go into a store and see ten different signs of the Season because you then search to make sure you see 'your sign'. Happy Holidays, everyone's happy. :) When I see store signs soley written in another language (other than english) I feel they don't want my business. Target wants everyone's business. It's good business not to leave anyone out. They're not in the business of wishing well, they there to sell us things we like!
3).The Salvation Army. Nice group of people, donate to their establishment all the time. Who's working their buckets who's "working their buckets"? Over the years I have seen scammers impersonating 'charities' and 'organizations' that I don't drop in the bucket, I send directly to the source. (They also block doorways and streets too. I resent donating to those who wish to use the guilt card. Tell me about your organization and I might help you out, don't 'shame' me into donating, you make yourself look suspicious :sus: )

My summary: be true to yourself, help others, stand up for yourself (don't jam your theology down anyone else's throats nor let it be jammed down yours) and 'live and let live' peacably. Oh, and try not to be too judgemental or thou will be judged!

(exiting soap box) :theyareon

Target is simply a reflection of the US which pretends to be christian and hasn't the vaguest notion of what that means. American churches and probably all western churches worship the good life, that is their highest value. Always wondered why they just don't hang a replica of the dollar bill at their altars so they can bow down without being hypocrites. How can anyone buy expensive toys, gadgets, clothes, food, wine, have parties and pretend they are celebrating Christ's birthday. That's not what he wants or expects for Christmas. And the pittance shoppers drop in Salvation Army buckets to assuage their guilt, Christ isn't buying it. If you can't donate matching funds to every single penny you spend on yourself (Christmas and every other day of the week) don't claim you are celebrating Christs birthday. And the American Family association is a right wing front.

There are just too many issues involved that they can't be discussed in one thread or forum. Or it will be perpetual thread...

What I can say is that US is a great country. Don't loose that edge, since I have observed we are continually loosing it slowly (my opinion only).

To give you perspective, where I came from, there is at least a mosque in every block. Our house was surrounded by 4 mosques in the 1 km range, maybe 6 now. Every one of them had big loud speakers and they blasted their prayers (in Arabic) 5 times a day, starting at 5 in the morning, every day, 7 days a week. Our next-door neighbor had prayer meeting every week, again, with loudspeaker on top of their house, chanting their prayers. We couldn't even talk in the house since it was very loud. Can you imagine if that happens here? We didn't understand Arabic, we're not even Muslims. Were we annoyed? Yes. Did we tolerate them? Yes, we had to, because that's where we lived. If we didn't like it, we're free to leave... And that's not why I left btw.

Just because some people don't like "In God we trust" incription in our bills, it doesn't mean we need to remove it. It might mean that they need to leave this country...

Just because someone don't like to be told "Merry Christmas", it doesn't mean we cannot use it... And I'm entitled to this opinion...

You gotta? Not me. Happy Holidays is a cop-out. Sorry. I say Merry Christmas to my non-Christian friends and they say back their slogan to me. I don't take offense to it nor do they.

But 5 years ago, the same people that were saying "Merry Christmas" is anti-Christian and commercializes Jesus and Christianity now all of the sudden want it back. Make up your mind people. It's a matter of the media pouringg crap into people's heads.

Let's stop beating up Target.

They're wishing us a "Happy Holiday" to ALL. They want EVERYONE to be included. They never suggested that we should stop wishing anyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza, Happy Hanuka (sp?), or a Merry Athiest Day! They want to sell you a shirt, etc. not dictate public policy.

They'll sell to anyone, not just a right or a left wing person! No descrimination or religious requirements neccessary. Democracy. :)

P.S. I have more concern with DELL farming out all their tech services, etc. overseas! They may speak english, but they don't understand us......Who's being Anti-American, where is the bulk of their profits made?

Excellent, I agree! Almost all companies outsource now, but most are moving call centers back to the US. The services didn't save them much money and pssed a lot of people off. US Airways closed their Winstom-Salem call center and moved it to the Phillipines. Now they are moving it back to the US soon.

Why is everyone picking on Target? It's not like they are the evil corporation known as .......WAL-MART!

Haha. I used to love Wal-mart. I hate them now. The store near me is so disorganized. None of the workers know what they're doing, it's pathetic.

Worse than Wal-Mart, K-Mart!!! (and Sears is following them real quick!)

K-Mart owns Sears now anyway.

Yes I know, that's why Sear's business practices are falling to the Kmart sludge pile. :thumbs_do Products and customer service ('what is that??' they say) are as poor as they come.:(

I'll go to Target anyday :car: , even if they don't wish me a Merry Christmas. :D
