My boys are so good! I dont have any problems except that they like to get into the kitchen garbage can. Bubba has chewed a couple of shoes in his younger days but honestly over the past several years, I cant think of anything worse than the trash. Knock on wood..

precocious said:Crating does work well for dog behavior. However, my dog chewed hers up! No lie, plucked the wire like guitar strings! And the slide closures she'd lick and move over with her paw...we had to get a lock! She's a slippery Houdini.
She also has a sweet tooth. Finds all the candy in the house, brings it to her cage and all that's left is the wrapper. And yes she has chewed the dog bed that we bought her.
The other night I was on the computer in the kitchen and that dopey dog was walking around on top of the dining room table (it was all set up with chargers and napkins) sniffing around!
Dopey, dopey dog.....she's forever hiding my slippers around the house too. At least she's calmed down on chewing them. And she's always stealing the kids stuffed animals and eating their noses (they're usually hard plastic). All our care bears are nose-less.
She'll be getting some rawhide in her stocking....

I knew somebody would say something......and my bet was it would be you.
I win!!!

The wire crate is metal. It wasn't cheap, it was just under $100.....I should've gone for the $150.00 model which was really heavy duty. Who knew I needed the really heavy duty??Kadin'sMama said:you had a wire crate? yeah, that doesnt work. you need a metal kennel. Everyone in our whole family that has a dog kennel trained and they are all well behaved. My brother (the vet) gave me an excellent guide when I got my JRT because she was a wild one. My parents have a Yorkie. Now he is kennel trained, but he will do something wild every once in awhile. He has a thing for my Dad's stuff (wallet, glasses, watch).

Either way, this dog is Houdini reincarnated. She plucked the pickets off the vinyl gate outside like she was playing piano! She even managed to do this again after we fixed them (glued & screwed). If she wants to get somewhere, she will...
