How old is your son? If he is old enough, let him camp out for it. Theres gonna be other people there too, so its not like he'll just be all alone overnight..

Heehee I wish I could!!! My oldest is 11 and my youngest is 8. They'll just have to be happy with good old ps2
 
The info about the $400 is in sony's website

The only differences between the $500 and the $400 are that the $400 will not have these things:

# CompactFlash®, SD Memory Card and Memory Stick Duo™ card slots
# Backwards Compatibility

instead of # Four USB ports it will have Two, the HD space, 80GB and 40GB

I'm definitely getting this ps3 when it comes out.


I dont how limited is gonna be, but amazon has the 80GB already in stock. And in other countries, where the 40GB was released, they dont seem to have stock problems. check the amazon for europe or japan, and they all have it in stock.

Stupid question but it seems to me that Blue Ray either hasnt caught on yet or will never catch on and no one cares about it. The PS3 system is great alone but where do you think blue ray technology is heading since its part of the PS3?
 
Ok the 40 GB will have no media card readers, no backward compatibility, 20 gb less of storage and 2 USB ports instead of 4. It still has Wi fi and HDMI. Blu Ray is pretty necessary for games because games are needing a lot more storage and it is very hard to fit all that onto a DVD. I hear the makers of Assassin's Creed are having trouble fitting the game onto a DVD for the 360. And also the Grand Theft Auto after GTA4 is probably going to be PS3 exclusive because they will probably never be able to fit it onto a DVD.
