HP Monitor 15in. NEW $40

These are the terms listed in the rebate:

Peripheral Rebates are valid only with the purchase of a qualifying HP Pavilion monitor and HP Pavilion desktop PC. Any HP Pavilion f or mx series monitor purchased with the b, c, d, g, m, s, w or x series PC is not an eligible product for any of the rebates in this offer.

I'd love this in english. HP uses to many "or" in there for this to make sense to me, a ; or a . would be nice. It sorta sounds like mx doesn't qualify, but I honestly can't understand what in the flying fig HP is trying to say in terms of which are/aren't eligible to begin with. Why not just plain list the qualifying models and be done with it<G>

Fyi this is directed at HP not you ;)

That second part of the form uses the all important EXCEPT word. Ya know, any F or mx EXCEPT b, c, d, etc. The front part of the rebate just says.

"Any HP Pavilion f or mx series monitor purchased with the b, c, d, g, m, s, w..."

Or...and except. Kinda changes a sentence a wee tad...

So F and Mx qualifies. Okay doke.

Stupid is, I had to go to amazon.com to read the second part of the form since hp didn't have the second part up on their promotions/rebates section of hp.com. Amazon used to sell a compaq 15" for like $190, free ship and no tax which came to a straight $40 after $150 rebate. Most merchants add $150 to the price of all qualifying hp/compaq monitors that are eligible for the $150 rebate. Nice..they pocket an extra $150 that hp, not them, forks out.
