Free Starbucks Vivanno on 7/25 & 7/26 w/ Registered Card

I bought a new card and put $10 on it, then immediately went online to register it. I then used it to buy a Vivanno, and it deducted the full price of the drink from my card.

No deal for me. Has this happened to anyone else?

The barista mentioned a coupon would be mailed to me upon activation of the card.

I'm wanting to do this but don't want to cause a big stink about it either. I wonder if it'll automatically refund (cancel out) the price of your drink when you swipe the card, or if the barista has to do it herself? I could really go for one of these. :) I'm smelling imaginary coffee right now just thinking about starbucks. *sigh*.

I went on Friday night, and had no problem at all. Just showed the notice I got and asked them if they needed one of my gift cards. They didn't want or need my card at all. My opinion: it was very good (I got the orange/mango/banana). They also advised you can order it without milk and then it will have more juice in it (a little sweeter/stronger mango flavor). They had a placard at the register promoting and describing the product.

I also asked about zero-balance cards, and these CAN be registered because you could then add money to the card at some future time. So even if you have a "dead" card, you might want to register it. Keep in mind, tho, that it has to be a card which at one time had a balance on it and was used.

Will have to ask OH about this one, he usually tells me when stuff like this comes up. He works for them:claps: Then again, my SB card isn't registered, so maybe he didn't bother telling me, or maybe he's just slipping....

In the Florida markets they have a coupon running (good in FL only) that is for any chilled drink after 2pm and is for $2.00 (sorry, can't remember size for sure, but think it's a GRANDE). Also, if you buy a Vivianno, they stamp your receipt that if you come back the same day after 2pm with the stamped receipt you get any chilled drink for $2.00 (again, I think it's a GRANDE).

I know my OH did mention the other day that there were people making copies of coupons that were fake and they've been alerted not to accept them down here.

Have to say, I was really surprised how good the Vivanno was, the one with the mango - don't particularly care for the chocolate banana blend one, but that's just me. I like the new Stella dessert too. Between the Vivanno and the Stella, I'm good to go - literally - good fiber!;)

Here are some of the perks you’ll get at participating company-operated Starbucks stores in the United States and Canada (not licensees, such as in-supermarket or in-hotel locations) when you register your prepaid Starbucks card:

  • Free customization on select syrups (including flavors such as vanilla, hazelnut and cinnamon) and milk alternatives (such as soy or half and half).
  • Free Tall beverage of choice (including blended beverages) with the purchase of one pound of whole bean coffee (on the same visit).
  • Free refills on brewed coffee (on the same visit).
  • Free in-store Wi-Fi -- two hours daily.

Bottom line, if you're a regular customer and have been paying incrementally for these items, you might be better off giving the Evil Empire some of your cash up-front and taking advantage of these benefits. If you're an occassional or infrequent customer, you may want to pass on this offer as you're just going to lock up cash til you redeem it..

OH just woke up and said it is a true promotion for SB registered card holders. Guess I wasn't privy to that info since I don't register mine!

He also said every Tuesday from 2pm-4pm SB registered card owners will get FREE VIVANNOS You will get emails updating you on this info via SB REWARDS EMAILS.

Enjoy everyone - the Vivanno drinks are REALLY delish!!!!

The Starbucks card also allows you to get 2 hours of free wifi each day, as long as you use your card to purchase something at least once a month.

Man, SB is evil. I don't think most places have that sort of restriction on their free wi-fi. Of course, I have never used free wi-fi so what do I know?

So I work as a shift supivisor in Starbucks and it is true, we are giving away free Vivanno's friday and saturday. Not only registering your starbucks card will give you that advantage, it also includes:

- Up to 2 hours of free wi-fi per day as long if you use your starbucks card once a month
- Free syrup and milk modifiers:
- So for example you order an Iced Grande Vanilla Latte... instead of paying $.30 for the vanilla syrup, you only pay for the latte. This does not, however, include sauces (Caramel Sauce, Mocha Sauce, etc.)
- If you drink soy milk or breve milk in your drinks, the milk modifier is now free instead of paying $.40 for it.
- Free Coffee Refills: If you ordered a brewed coffee and stayed in the store to enjoy it, you can get a refill for free instead of paying $.50 for it.
- Free tall beverage with a purchace of a pound of coffee: Normally if you buy a pound of coffee we offer a free tall hot coffee. With the registered Starbucks card, you can get any tall drink for free as long if you pay for your pound of coffee with the Starbucks card.

Also just letting you know that sometimes Starbucks will be nice and add an extra $5 to your card randomly.

Okay done with my sales talk =)

Not necessarily. A lot of independent coffee shops restrict their "free" wi-fi to customers only--meaning you better have paid for *something*. Most won't necessarily enforce it by kicking you out, but they will give you the evil eye if you've been sitting in the shop for a long time and haven't bought anything (it's considered rude).

Starbucks's restriction may seem kinda evil at first, but when you think about it, you may as well enjoy a beverage while you're surfing the web, doing work, etc. Plus, using your card once a month to pay for a < $5 drink isn't exactly a hardship.

:like: Got my free Chocolate Banana Vivanno today with no problems at all. Their register recognizes that you're a registered card holder when they ring you up. They even upgraded me to soy milk for free. :claps:

Thanks again, Pat!

Wow! So we can go every Tue and get a free Vivanno from 2 to 4pm!?! Is that a nation promotion? I'll give it a try this Tue. I got my free Chocolate Banana Vivanno today without a problem however the Starbucks I went to was not aware of the promotion. How could we know and they don't?

I wish I had known to ask for it without milk. I got the Mango Banana and I love Mango...it was yucky !! Things usually taste even better when FREE !! I almost went back in to ask if I could have the chocolate banana instead...
I have virtually stopped going to Starbucks except for special occasions...The sugar-free coffee creamers at the market make a great coffee drink for me, iced too!!

I got four free drinks!

I printed out the flyer that was sent to me in my email and brought it to my local Starbucks (I live in San Diego) and at first I thought it was only one free drink per registered card. Well it turns out it wasn't! I asked if it was only good for one and my barista said "no, you could get as many as you want" so I took advantage of it and ordered four! I ended up with two chocolate banana ones and two orange/mango/banana ones. My roommates were happy when I got home! :claps:

When in doubt, always ask and you won't be disappointed!

Wow--you got four. I was the OP, and I only asked for two! But on Sat., they did scan the cards, so it's a good thing I had two cards. It appeared to me at this SB that it was one per card. I ordered w/o milk and liked it better (orange/mango). Husband didn't care for it too much. Oh well. I have not yet received the e-mail about the Tuesday promo, but I did read somewhere that it was for the month of August--not a never-ending offer btw. So, the thread lives on for now...but obviously the dates are no longer important.

I think the free Tuesday's Vivannos are through sometime in Sept. but don't quote me on that one!!!
