** DEAD ** ---- laptop for $73.04

i only gave it to this site because of my love for spoofee and they always provide me the best deals like the SuSE linux i got :D just showing my appreciation

If I can make $50 off of it, that's fine by me. Either way, I don't care if I get it, they cancel the order, or give me money. There's nothing really negative about it.

Great Find

I agree with Chooch, This won't happen ......

Look at the policy for order acceptance ....

COVER ME I'm going in ....... and placing my order

Good luck. Still, it's worth a try. What bad can come out of it? Whatever it is, it is. I'm sure giving it a go though.

My order just finished processing, I got an order confirmation by e-mail and it was sent to warehouse. Normal stuff, but this is looking good so far. I think that if they get some in stock, we'll get them, it's a matter if they come in.

I placed an order, it went through...No problems that I can see. The status is "on order" I hope they get more and send me one!

What Do You Think

I ordered the Acer Travelmate for $73.04 went through ... No Problem

When looking up the SKU 10358083 for this item (on Buy.com website) the Laptop appears
Buy.com Sku: 10358083
Manufacturer: ACER OPTIONS

Mfg Part#: 91.49V29.003 I searched for this number and found this is the memory for this laptop. :hmm:

91.49V29.003, M3264C250, 256MB Acer Laptop PC2700 DDR SODIMM

I think I just purchased 256MB of MEMORY --- NOT --- the Laptop .....

Everybody see the logic in my thinking ..... OR .... What are your thoughts ???

If you placed an order for the Laptop, I would strongly suggest you print a copy of Buy.com's screen page, showing the Laptop, Pricing, Model Number, etc. and keep it a safe place for FUTURE REFERENCE. I'm sure your going to need it, IF this goes through :claps: :claps: :claps:

Probably still would have been available if Erik would not have called to inquire about it. LOL

I didn't! I called in and asked if I could place the order over the phone. I asked for the item number. She verified it was a laptop, no price was involved, and I was about to place but then I asked if the $2.95 order over the phone fee applied, and she said yes. I then asked that I needed to figure out why I couldn't place the order. She told me it was because I was trying to use an electronics coupon in the computers section. I removed it, and my order went through. No price discussion was involved, she just verified that it was a laptop and I said yes. I didn't kill this deal! :D

This sounds bad. Does anyone have a printout of the screen when it was showing on order etc.? If I get memory, I don't know what I'm going to do with it since it isn't returnable! Anyone have any ideas?

I just printed the screen showing unavailable from the manufacturer but that doesn't help me much, I really hope they don't ship this memory.

What are we supposed to do?

Ah man, wish I could help you out. But you had to call and ruin the deal, which is a no-no.

It should be ok. My order confirmation states a laptop, not memory. No CC company will allow this, as it is clearly bait and switch.

I just found a 10% off coupon but wasn't able to use it, kind of mad now.

I'm using a VISA Check Card, but I think that still gives me all the buyer protection of a VISA card.

Just got an email stating the status as "Sent to Warehouse" You'd think if they weren't going to honor the price they would've send out emails saying that the orders were cancelled...*praying this works out* A laptop would be perfect to bring on trips...I guess we'll all know for sure on Monday.

I'm looking on the S.lickDeals forums and it looks like one person got his order cancelled already. Mine has been sent to the warehouse and I haven't gotten any e-mails besides the order confirmation, and my card has been debited, so this is looking really good for me.

Dear Erik,

Thank you for your order. We are proud to be your internet superstore.

We pride ourselves on delivering the best possible shopping experience to you and all of our customers. That means that from the moment you enter Buy.com to the moment your order is delivered to your door - we are dedicated to your satisfaction.

Is that the e-mail you got or did you get another one? Mine still shows sent to warehouse on my order status page. The only e-mail I've gotten is the one above and the sent to warehouse on the order status. Did you get another?

From the website

Most orders go through these 3 phases: Processing - - Sent to Warehouse - - Shipped.
Once you order, we carefully check to make sure you're the person using your credit card or gift certificate.

While we're doing this, or if we're waiting for you to send in other forms of payment, your order is Processing. You can cancel your order within the first 30 minutes of processing.

Once we have verified your payment, your order is Sent to Warehouse to be fulfilled.

If your item is in stock, your order will be Shipped within 1 to 2 business days.
