Credit Card to Get 5% Back On Grocery, Gas, and Drug Stores

The original post says that "some places will not accept Master Card."

Has anyone ever had a problem using mastercard? I currently have the citi platinum select dividend card (mastercard) and I have yet to find a place that doesn't take it.

I use the Citi Dividend Platinum Select MasterCard for gas, supermarket, drugstore, and use Chase Business Card with Premier Cash Rebate for restaurants, office supply, and home improvement.

Chase Business Card with Premier Cash Rebate. Earn 3% cash back on purchases at gas stations, restaurants, office supply stores, hardware & home improvement centers, plus 1% back on purchases made elsewhere! There are no spending minimums to worry about so you earn these rebates from the first time you use your card!1

I'd say you apply for both Chase Rewards and Citibank Dividend. Use one until you hit the cap, then use the other... That should be enough for average people... Then come to Spoofee.com often to get more stuff, perhaps the ones that you can sell and make profit ;)

By "Chase Rewards" do you mean the Chase "Free Cash Rewards" card that is a flat 1% everywhere and you can redeem for cash every 2500 points up to 60000 points per year?

There are other similar Chase Rewards cards such as "Rewards Plus" or the "Cash Plus Rewards" already mentioned. However, it seems these latter 2 require you to reach 5000 points before you can get cash back and limit you to 30000 points per year, and the only benefit is 5% instead of 1% at certain types of stores. Is this right?

I've been wanting to find something that offers more than 1% cash back on all types of purchases without large minimums to get the better rewards rate (like American Express), but so far Free Cash Rewards looks the best with the fewest strings attached. Do others agree?

I've got the Citibank Dividends Card and it rocks!

My limit is $350 cash back for the year, BUT....

there is NO cap on anything you order online through the Citibank Dividends Merchants Network. It's free to sign up.
Check it out here:

https://www.citidividendmerchants.citicards.com/shop/SHP_MerchantSearch.aspx?cID=1

Amounts back range anywhere from 1-10%. A number of them fall between the 4% and 7% category.

One thing you have to remember, though, is to qualify the purchase by logging into the CB Network, and then, use the link they provide to order. That's how it's tracked.

I love it!

Could you explain the program rules? From Chase's website it mentions about points. How many points should I have before I can redeem with rewards?

I applied for that Student one. Fun.

anyone know why my citi bank account (just opened) shows only $0.85 for gas. I used a 76 station and circle K total is around $85 ... so it seems like its only 1% and should be 5%... does it take a bill cycle to rerate it to 5%? or are these places not counted as "gas" places.

also, i just looked at my year end spending report for AMX and it says it only took $32 as actual gas and the other $1300 as autocare...

is there a specific station that i should go where i won't have a problem?

Did anyone else got a letter from Citi saying that they are changing their Reward Program? The letter says that on October 13, 2006, I will only get 2% cash back for purchases at supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations. This is crap, because I spend at least $50 a week on gas and 2% will be a huge difference from the original 5% I get now. Man, this sucks. Does anyone else know if this will happen to the other credit cards on the list. I just applied for Discover for their 5% for gas stations, but I need the 5% for supermarkets and drugstores because I order medicine from Walgreens and that costs me $200+. Help me out fellas.

I just received the letter today. 2% cash back on purchases made at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations. changes take effect 4/14/07

they add 2% cash back on convenience stores and utilities including cable...

i'm glad I also signed up for chase plus rewards when it was available.
