FYI, this is a card not based on a full Xfi chip. It uses software emulation.

For the real XFi you have to get either the Fatality editions or Extreme MUSIC, not audio. It is the full blown chip. It can be had in OEM fassion for about $60 at places like Frys.com. it is a much better card with full audio hardware processing, instead of the software (read-CPU used) emulation.

http://shop2.outpost.com/product/50...6n7vG4nZQ**.node2?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG this should be link to Fry's oem card

Also note, they look different, REAL Xfi's are gold and black, and full sized, the cheaper ones are plain PCB's.

Also there are differences in the REAL xfi's. The Fatality editions are mostly the ones with the on board RAM, while the extreammusic does not. To see the physical difference in with and without ram, look at the card in the link above, then look at a card that is in the fatality line. The fatality usually has a black cube on the end opposite of the wire plugins, that is the ram chip. Generally speaking it does not make a huge difference in frames per second so for those on a budget, you wont miss it. If you have a big budget, spring for it, its gonna give you that 0.5% you HAVE to have :D

Lesson is, if you wanna game, skip this card, if you want good sound but are not a gamer, this card is fine.

FYI, you are wrong.

This card is the FULL Xfi chip. There is no "Xram" but there is ram just like all the other full xfi's except the very top of the line. Ofcourse Xram is useless unless the game make's explicit use of it, which less than 1% do.

Your post refers to the "XtremeMusic" and "XtremeAudio". In this regard you are correct. The "XtremeAudio" is stripped down version (completely different chip) than the rest of the Xfi line.

However this is the XtremeGamer therefore it does not apply here.

Don't believe me? Go to creatives website and look at the driver downloads for the cards in question. The XtremeGamer uses the same driver as the Fatality, Music, etc versions. The XtremeAudio uses a different driver.
