Better Homes and Gardens Cookie Swap House Party

Got my email from HP. I have subscribed to BH&G for years!!! Also love ziplock bags and the Disposable containers (although I don't dispose of them) LOL. Good Luck everyone. Now that I have gotten 2 HP's , if I don't get this one, I won't feel AS bad!!

If they tasted some of my cookies, I'd get an automatic reject.

this looks like they are going to send some ziplock bags and a few recipies as a party package, I am shying away from these better homes and gardens parties, they want maximum exposure to the market for pennies, or HP is getting WAYY too cheap for their own good.

But its cookies! We could do a dueling kitchenAids skit...

Same here. I'm only allowed FREE junkfood! I'm even taking free ALLI. One of my friends got too scared to try it. Yippee for me!

I make a pototoe chip cookie that my friends look forward to every year..but I don' have alot of kitchen room

potato chips plus cookies......yyyuuuummmmm...this one looks like a fun one,but after the seed disappointment I am not getting too excited..

Pfft... I refuse to set get rejected once again........ ok ok you talked me into it!

:noidea: OK - I'll bite: Why is everybody so upset about Houseparty? I just applied to the invite and I think I met the criteria that they're looking for. Why do so many people get rejected? Do they send you a reason why, I mean aside from they have enough hosts? Has ANYONE here hosted one - and how did it go? Do I smell a spam scam??? :sus:

Many veterans feel blacklisted after the GMA piece aired. HP would only choose new(bie) applicants for parties. They weren't even selecting people if they'd ever been guests. So, when you turn your back on the people that made you into the WOM company that you are today, you get smacked. I've not been rejected from the last 13 parties. I had hosted 6 before the GMA piece. My friends, family and coworkers loved it. But not anymore!

Now you've got me curious - what did the GMA piece reveal about the events? You've said that you've hosted and guests have loved it, so I'm wondering what changed your mind about them.... :worry:

the rejections..... i have gotten like 7 in a row..... and yet i still try LOL

It jsut got Hp's name out in the lime light. Many people learned about it and signed up. MAny more packages were sold on ebay!

My mind was changed when they (Ian and Eric) started fibbing about the demographics, newbies only, certain states only, etc. I understand that it is marketing and common practice, but don't assure people that everyone is welcome just to get people to fill out surveys for free.

One of my GF's was lucky enough to get picked to host a BHG party. After she went through everything, she found out her first party was the seeds. How could she invite her 20-something gfs over for that? KWIM?

Thanks so much for all the info --- I won't be expecting too much from this one now - except a lot of email from BH&G that is...

Eva - I must have missed this latest brew-ha-ha - did they do the HouseParty piece on Good Morning America recently? I wonder if there's a video clip somewhere out there - I would love to see it! I'm hoping that they strike a balance with new and "more experienced" hosts as 2009 approaches. I think it's great to open the Word of Mouth opportunities to a larger field, so long as they are committed and involved in the process and mission. I'm not certain that many will provide as good a return for their investment as some of us more active participants, but this will all pan out. I'm thrilled to be involved on any level - hopefully getting some parties to share!

I have to say that i have been VERY dissappointed with house party. i have been trying to get into having a party and received rejection letters from EVERY one that i have applied. I have been trying for about 2 years now. Actually, shouldnt say that, sometimes, no letters at all. I would love to have a party, i am the only one of my friends and family who ever has parties or friends over. i love to try new things and get the word out. Hopefully my luck will change.

I got rejected over and over and now have got accepted for 2 parties. One package has come in today. I'm SUPER excited!!! It isn't a scam and they do send stuff out.

They do send stuff out, but here recently they have gotten real cheap about what they send, HP that is, usually when the company sends direct it is really nice stuff, but when HP sends anything it is usually coupons, cheap temp tattoos, nasty plates and napkins that aren't wrapped, just detestable business practices, I have gotten some really nice stuff to throw parties with and then I get really crappy stuff direct from HP, it really is a crap shoot, you just gotta hope that the company is sending direct. After the last BH&G fiasco with the seeds and then the actual HP party package with one bottle of cleaner for the actual party hosts, I am very leary of BH&G, HP really screwed up the BH&G name for me. It's funny, they say people are still buzzing worldwide about the BH&G parties, but what they don't mention is that it is VERY negative buzz.
