The alternatives to the natural colors and flavor would be the artificial flavors and colors. You know, red 40, etc. Organic refers to (usually) how a plant was grown. My garden is all organic. I dont use pesticides or Miracle Grow and/or any of that type of stuff. I use fish emulsion for a fert and neem oil for a pest remover. Inorganic sugar would likely be if they spray pesticides and/or chemical based fertilizers over the crops of sugar cane.

It's the mark of a good question, everyone wants to weigh in! ;)

OK, here's another question:

Can you get me the lyrics to a kids' song called "Les Zombies et Les Loup-Garoux"? I thought you might know a little French down there in NOLA...I keep missing some of the lyrics--my French sucks.

The Zombies and the Werewolves? Sounds like a great kids song, lol.

Oh, its Raffi.. While I do speak some French, Im afraid I dont speak Raffi. Your search may be more productive if you drop the x from loup garou.

Thanks, is garou the plural form, but no x or s? :hmm: Thx for the clarification on the spelling.

It is a good *parents'* song anyway----I'm told the zombies refer to the new parents (for obvious reasons) and the babies are the werewolves!!!! LOL
azqqqaaa <-- this last bit is my son's contribution to my typing, he's yelling "dis, my" and banging on keys to claim ownership of mommy's laptop! LOL

As opposed to DeadSanta? (just going along with the train of thought in your post ;) )

No, in this case it is SuperLiveSantaSquid.

Thanks for stopping in Squid. Nice to know you're keeping an eye on all us chillen.

Squiddy....what would be your guess on calories burned shoveling snow for aprx. thirty minutes? I should add that the snow was heavy and by the time I started shoveling there was already 4 inches on the ground.
Thanks!

That would depend on the vigor with which you did the shoveling. Also, did you throw the snow to the side, over your shoulder, did you twist or just toss it, etc. Did you break a sweat? Did your heart rate increase a lot?

Hmm....well, I tossed the snow to the side as I was twisting. Good for the abs, bad for the back. I took my time doing it. It was still snowing an I had on my glasses, so it was hard to see. I know.....sounds odd.
No, I did not sweat and I don't think my heart rate rose too much.
So....what do you think?

Without your heart rate increasing youre not going to burn much at all. Next time, shovel harder.

Okay, Cap'n. I wore my Polar so I could check my heartrate. I was between 145 and 155 for 25 minutes of shoveling. The snow was heavy and wet. After doing a strip down the center of the driveway (50 feet) which I threw to the side, I cleared the rest throwing forward. At the end of the driveway, where the snowplows made a ridge by clearing my street, I threw everything to the left (downhill) side, so it doesn't pool when melting, or get pushed back into my driveway the next time the plow comes by.

How many kilocalories?

Well, I dont know how much you weigh, but if you weighed 175 or so, youdve burned about 200 calories, Id say. So, .2 Kcal.

Squid...
What is that on your avatar? It hurts my eyes.... :ohwell:

Sorry it hurts.. Its just a happy greeting that you guys will have to figure out for yourselves, if you want to.
