anyone else going to turn off their tv for a week?

I will answer as one of "you people"...

Mine are only 7 & 5 so they are not going anywhere on there own yet. When they are older, if we all agreed to do something like this I think that they would respect it. :D

Same here. Normally we dont turn on the TV on weeknights. My sons are 8 and 4 and watch TV [or play game cube] only on weekend (either Sat or Sun) max 1-2 hrs. Even when I and my wife watch TV on weekends, my little one never turns to TV at all and is busy playing with his building blocks or coloring. My older one tries to settle down next to us, so we try to watch only 'mild' programs when they are around.

I wish I could get my daughter (2 yrs) to sit still and be quiet and watch tv for just a minute, but no, she's just always so busy... always...

No problems...it's hard to talk online at times because you can't see or hear the other person. ;) It's all good. :)

I didn't know that this week was "turn off your t.v for week" I guess I should watch more t.v. to keep up on these things. Ha, Ha.

"Since I don't have kids, there is no reason for me to turn off my boob tube "

There was a film by that name, THE BOOB TUBE.

Why should it matter if you watch tv? It's just like reading the newspaper, a book, internet, etc.

Then why not just watch them now. What is the difference?

Television has come along way. There is alot of programming that teaches and helps out in daily life. There is alot of bad stuff too, but one week is not going to make a single difference. My daughter loves Little Einsteins and shows like this, and I think it teaches here alot. I would rather have her watch that then not watch it.
NO TV WEEK :thumbs_do
