All you Webby/Computer Smarties out there....

Would you all stop trying to give cybermom advice on how to "fix" her computer!

I'm trying to install slave software on it as part of my plan to control the Internet!

Wait....did I forget to white out that last part?...

OK...plan B.

Is the slave wrapped in silk?

Wow! I can not thank y'all enough! I used the ccleaner and it was like getting a whole new computer instantly! There were 177 registry errors that it cleaned up...besides the rest of the junk. I've been recomeding it to everyone I know. I used it w/out making a donation, becasue I was so doublful. I'm going back today to donate because it was so awesome.

I reloaded IE8 and it's no longer making me log in to my email every time. It still doesn't want to save all my addresses in the address bar, but still. I'm good. I haven't had any connectivity issues and the speed is soooooo much better! You guys rock!

After turning on my firewall, I re-ran the malwarebyes. It still comes up with the same item as a malicious program. I haven't decided what to do about it yet. I'm afraid if I delete it I'll really mess something up. And since everything seems to be working well now...not sure I want to mess w/it.

My Norton is still in the computer, but I have it turned off and I'm using the malwarebyes. I still have around 9 months of norton so I may give it another chance.

Really saved me a bunch! Extrememly grateful! Drinks on me :)

BTW...tried to give you all "thank you" hugs, but was informed I have to "spread it around" a little first. I don't think dh is gonna like that!

MS includes a tool to clean your computer, it's updated automatically & it's called MRT. You run it by opening a RUN window & typing in: MRT.

Since its on my home computer and I'm not home, I'm pretty sure you can undelete what you would delete with Malwarebytes, but as you said, if everything is fine, it probably isn't worth playing with it.

FYI I usually run CCleaner at least once week. :yesnod:

Glad to hear it all worked out. :)
