the 'nvidia gtx' in here is a crappy laptop set, nothing as powerful as a regular desktop would have. You can get lots more powerful machines for this kind of money if you dont want it to say alienware
 
I think you under estimate how far mobile gfx cards have come. For $500 that's a decent price. If you want mind blowing SLI graphics than yeah, you'll have to spend more.
